I never knew that a nfl playoffs jaguars player can loose weight in a game! Like, what?! That just really blew my mind. I mean, how did the bears do in the nfl draft do you even go about doing that? Is it something that’s encouraged in the industry? After doing some research, I discovered it was! It’s actually quite common for coaches to put players on a special diet that, while healthy, focuses on shredding extra weight, to increase agility and speed on the field.
It goes without saying, this diet probably isn’t super easy to follow, and must require a lot of self-discipline, especially during games. Plus, the food must be balanced properly to maintain energy levels, but not take away from the amount that needs to be lost. I bet it’s not fun trying to stick to a strict diet plan while playing in an intense environment. And, it must not be very appealing to limit your caloric intake during a competition that is already quite aggressive.
Apparently, some of the things that can be done to lose weight while still playing, include cutting out sugar, eating smaller meals and the exclusion of certain carbs. Still though, why do it? Well, It turns out that there is a big advantage to the weight reduction. According to a Detroit based study, players who were on a specialized diet to help them lose weight during games, were able to increase their rate of acceleration.
But, while the dieting may help you move faster and improve your skill set, it’s important to remember that it’s not a substitute for steroids. Sure, your muscles might be toned and you might be in much better shape than you were previously, but that doesn’t mean you should be looking for shortcuts. The serious consequences of using steroids are enough to scare you straight. So, make sure you focus on developing a healthy diet and maintaining a healthy weight in order to get more out of your performance.
One thing that I think teams should consider when it comes to having a weight loss plan during games, is to make sure they have a plan in place that will ensure that the player can still eat healthily and that the diet actually fits in with their lifestyle. It’s not enough just to tell the players to stop eating certain things, because if they’re not given the proper guidance, it could end up leading to a lack of energy or even weight gain.
I think it’s really impressive that so many teams go to such lengths to ensure their players perform to their highest potential. Not only is it impressive that they’re taking care of their players, but it’s also very important that they understand the importance of taking a step back and taking a proper look at what’s best for their team.
When it comes to training and dieting for weight loss before a game, it’s important to remember that it’s always best to start with professional guidance, whether that’s consulting with a nutritionist or a coach. It’s also good to make sure that you have a plan in place that not only allows you to reach your goals, but also to feel satisfied with the process.
When it comes to losing weight during a game, the same rules apply. You want to make sure that you’re still eating a balanced and healthy diet, and that you’re making sure you’re giving yourself the fuel you need in order to perform, while also being mindful of not consuming too much. It’s a tricky balance, but it can be achieved.
What do you think? Have you ever heard of a NFL player losing weight during a game? Do you think it’s important that a team has a plan in place in order to ensure that their players are in the best possible shape for every game? Would you be willing to give it a go?
